AK Apartment

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus
Total area: 200 sqm
Design: 2022
Program: 3-Bedroom Apartment

The AK apartment renovation project takes influences from both Scandinavian and Japanese design. What these design traditions share in similarity is their appreciation of materiality, most especially with respect to wood and concrete, and their functional spaces defined by elegant minimalism and timeless appeal.

The design stems from a focus on balance, on expression through material, and on bringing light inside. Uninterrupted views of the cityscape can be enjoyed in the large open-plan living and dining areas, through full-height glazing, shrouded by soft grey sheers.

By introducing a subdued material palette, the apartment is transformed into a warm and tactile family home. The kitchen layers travertine flooring, light beige cabinetry, solid walnut island and Fiore di Bosco stone countertop, illuminated by a gold slimline pendant, emphasising the intentionally timeless aesthetic of the home. Utensils and kitchenware can be stored away neatly in the handle less cupboards, creating a pristine haven for the user to enjoy.

The bedrooms feature white-oak floors and textured walls through the corridor areas.
