An understated elegance characterises this serene apartment, located in the heart of the city. Refined with soft furnishings and neutral colour hues that accentuate the abundance of natural light, which floods the apartment.
The open plan living, dining and kitchen area, presents a versatile yet laid back aesthetic. Consisting of shades of driftwood taupe, misty grey, olive green and shell pink, as well as textures of concrete, Travertine stone and Calacatta Gold marble.
There is something both soothing and stirring about the kitchen and bathrooms material combination. The subdued palette of earth tones allows the light bounce around to give some breadth to these spaces. The custom kitchen cleverly marks the transition between the public and private spaces and features a discerning Calacatta Gold marble island.
For continuity, concrete floor tiles were used across the apartment and a matte, off-white colour on the walls. This serene look was paired up with stylish but very clean and simple furniture and objects.
The original layout of the apartment was extensively remodelled, with ideas such as smoked-mirror-clad doors that bounce light around every part of each room. The curation of the open-plan space provides a seamless mediation between objects, interpretation and the ‘room’.
